 Mr. Nick Vreugdenhil (Country Manager Japan, NORTEL NETWORKS)It has been 5 years now since I started studying at MLC, and I can't imagine going anywhere else. When I started looking for somewhere to re-start my Japanese studies after a few years' break, I wanted somewhere that would offer flexibility in terms of class formats, ability to adapt curriculum to my needs, and proximity to my office in Osaki. With MLC I found all of that and more. My Japanese has improved steadily, to the point where people often ask me for an introduction to my school. My teachers have all been friendly, professional, and responsive to my needs and pace of learning. As my work schedule is often dynamic, I have really appreciated their flexibility in that regard as well. I am currently trying my best to conquer kanji characters, as my conversational Japanese has reached a point where I need to be able to read and write if I am to advance any further. As many have discovered before me, kanji is not an easy area to master as an adult, and my teacher is able to strike just the right blend of coaching, target-setting, and testing techniques to help me advance. I am also working my way through "Shoudan no Tame no Nihongo" (a business-focused text) which offers both a solid challenge in terms of vocabulary and a good blend with my kanji studies. |
| Andrew Jago, Toyota Motor Corporation I have to admit that I have not been the best language student, partly because much of my spare time has been spent exploring new parts of Japan - two years is a very short period of time and I wanted to see as much of the country as possible! Hayashimoto-sensei has understood my needs and she has taken the time to study these areas with me in detail. Most importantly, she has always picked up on my mistakes, making me repeatedly practice dialogues until I get them right. Recognizing that each student's needs might be different, I found it particularly helpful when my teacher prepared some special worksheet to cover subjects such as travel by Taxi and ordering food at restaurants. I have enjoyed my classes with MLC and won't hesitate to recommend your school to other friends or colleagues who relocate to Tokyo in the future. |
