I have taken private classes with MLC before I sat for both Level 2 and Level 1 of the Japanese Proficiency Test.  My requirements were for a flexible, private preparation class tailored to my learning needs.  On both occasions I found MLC were able to cater to my exact specifications. 

I discussed with the teacher the precise course of study I wanted to pursue and they were able to recommend preparation books fitting these needs. 

If I needed to cancel a class for unforeseen reasons I was always able to book another time to have the class. 

The quality of the teaching I also found to be excellent, the learning environment relaxed and stress-free. 

I believe the support provided by MLC contributed greatly to my passing the exam on both occasions.  In addition to all this, the location is convenient and their prices very reasonable for the quality of teaching provided.  I would recommend MLC to anyone whose schedule makes it difficult to attend a fixed group class or to those seeking a class tailored to their specific learning needs.

Lessons geared towards passing an exam are naturally less fun than ordinary lessons.
Particularly if there is a book of 173 grammar points to be covered !
However my teacher made it as painless as possible, and encouraged me to use the new grammar in conversations, not just be able to answer multiple choice questions.
I've passed the exam. My fluency and range of spoken Japanese has improved considerably thanks to the lessons.

Lessons are always enjoyable and varied with a friendly and flexible teacher who adapts lessons according to my changing needs and interests. At times, we have studied for the JLPT , other times we have concentrated on grammar or colloquial Japanese. I have seen a real improvement in my ability since starting lessons at MLC 18 months ago.
