@Mr. PETER BEYERSDORFTaking the intermediate level class at MLC made communicating in Japanese a lot less frustrating. It seems that every week I learned a new structure that allowed me to express something that I had been wanting to say in Japanese, but had previously been unable to. As a result I no longer have to stop in the middle of conversations because I don't know how to finish what I started to say. We typically learned one or two new structures at a time, and spent two lessons covering the new material with occasional review lessons. I think this is a nice rate - it's slow enough to absorb the material well, but fast enough to stay interesting. The class is an excellent investment. Although the class is based out of the book "Japanese for Busy People vol II", extra material was regularly provided, particularly when the book was unclear. When my classmates and I expressed an interest in learning to read and write Kanji our teacher tailored the class to accommodate our goals. For a part-time class, it is really amazing what you can get out of it. |
Mr. ARTEM BEZRODNOVMy personal priority in Japanese language study is the ability to speak and understand people speaking. After finishing the MLC Beginner's course I started to get common phrases sounding around me. Still, in most cases only separate words could be recognized. With this current course we constantly increase our baggage of Japanese language grammatical structures, and it appears that I start using them the very day after we study them in the class. This course proves to be really effective. Besides exercises and vocabulary from textbook we receive a lot of additional materials, which include grammar explanations, practical exercises and of course homework. Course program, though based on textbook, is shaped according to student's requests to include extra reading, speaking or Kanji practice. Even within a group every student obviously receives his or her individual approach, so I believe that my classmates get what they expect and even more from the lessons. I certainly do. |
I'm glad that I started my Japanese studies at MLC. My teachers are friendly but serious about helping me learn. They spot the things that I am having difficulty with and make sure that I learn then before moving on to new material. Class is very practical. After every class I can take what I have learned and use it in the situations that I encounter on a day to day basis. The main grammar points are taught in a way that is easy for me to understand, and the class exercises have helped build confidence in my speaking ability. I have time commitments outside of class, so private lessons work well for me. My teachers are good at adjusting the pace of the class depending on how easily I am learning the material. I'm always satisfied with the responses to my questions, and I'm satisfied with the level of feedback I am receiving. The homework, tests and reviews have helped me to point out specific areas where I can improve. |
Ms. Sarah LeflarThis is my second course at MLC. It is a good language school, especially for people who speak English. The two teachers that I have had hare have been very good. Japanese for Busy People is a good textbook. |
Mr. Torquel AustralI think MLC is a great place to learn Japanese because they focus on what is important. You learn new grammars and structures every lesson and it gave me the ability to express myself in ways I couldnft do before. The staff is very friendly and you get free coffee or tea too ! |
Mr. JEAN QUEYROYFor me the way of studying at MLC is really useful and efficient. I think the textbook and all the worksheets are quite good for me and adopted to my needs. I can see how the other students of the group improve their skills, and I hope that for me itfs the same, even if itfs not easy to evaluate oneself. |
